An existing rear extension to a protected structure in Blackrock was reconfigured to strengthen its relationship with the garden. A new timber-framed bay window with a bespoke oak bench creates a generous place to sit, while a new metal stair provides direct access to the garden below.
A high-level horizontal window brings natural light deep into the kitchen. The new elements are carefully integrated into the existing structure, using timber, oak and metal to introduce a series of precise interventions that improve the connection between the house, extension and garden.
