This extension in South Dublin adds  a kitchen, dining and utility room to the rear of an existing house. The screen to the rear moves in to provide sheltered entrance ways to the Utility and Dining areas and pushes out to bring the kitchen towards the east-facing rear garden. A rooflight between the existing house and the new extension brings natural light into the centre of the plan, through the painted timber structure of the ceiling above. Bespoke fitted furniture ties the new interventions together, with an oak bench to the dining room, built-in storage units and kitchen cabinetry.
